Batik, Silk Screening, Printmaking

This activity is perfect for a birthday party, Girl Scout workshop, school/library enrichment class, or just a creative playdate with a group of friends!
Batik is traditionally used with hot wax and dye, but not in this class! We will use glue, crayons, and a few other surprise mediums! Silk screening is a type printmaking in which a design is imposed on a screen. The children will design their own screens and print on various fabric mediums. Printmaking will explore extraordinary shapes and textures to create beautiful pictures. Stamping and stenciling with found objects and even vegetables! Each child will create an amazing piece of usable and wearable art.

  1. This sounds like fun. I'm willing to be a kid again just to take this course. My housemate is a fashion designer, and one never knows where this might fit in with her needs. Good Deal Craty Katie, keep up the wonderful work you do!
